Duo Clear Aligners

The aesthetic advantages of clear aligners are one of the primary reasons to choose clear aligners. Since they’re removable, you can eat and drink whatever you want—there are no restrictions on crunchy or sticky foods that would damage traditional braces.

And, thanks to the technology used to design clear aligners, you will be given a virtual preview of what your smile will look like at the end of the treatment.

Our Clear Aligners Process

Clear aligners from our Tucker offices are made using 3D computer imaging. Once we have a digital model of your teeth, we can design a series of aligners.

Clear aligners are a more convenient alternative to traditional braces if you only need mild to moderate corrections. They're made of special transparent plastic so that you can wear them to work or school without others knowing.

After you have received your series of aligners, you’ll wear each set for about two weeks at a time. They should stay in your mouth for 20 to 22 hours each day, and you should only remove them to eat, drink, brush, and floss.

You will visit Duo Orthodontics periodically so that we can make sure that your teeth and jaws are making the proper movements. The total treatment time is usually between one year and 18 months.

All About Aligner Tech

Our clear aligner system combines advanced 3D computer graphics technology with the 100-year-old science of orthodontics. Clear aligners are designed to move your teeth in small steps to the desired final position prescribed by Dr. Kim.

Each aligner is precisely calibrated and manufactured to fit your mouth at each stage of the treatment plan. Your first step is to visit our office to determine if this treatment is right for you.

After sending precise treatment instructions, the Clear Aligners system uses advanced computer technology to translate these instructions in a sequence of finely calibrated aligners. You’ll wear each aligner for two to four weeks and only take them out to eat, brush and floss.

As you replace each aligner with the next, your teeth will gradually shift into alignment. Then you'll be smiling like you never have before!

Differences Between Clear Aligners & Braces

Unlike traditional braces, smooth plastic aligners don't have metal components that can irritate your mouth. Because they’re removed when you eat, you won't have to watch what you eat like you would when wearing braces – bring on the popcorn and peanuts.

In fact, you must remove the aligners for eating and for drinking anything other than water.

You need to ensure you're willing to do that before deciding on clear aligners.

To prevent staining, you'll need to clean your teeth before putting the aligners back on after each time you eat. Of course, brushing and flossing are much easier than traditional braces since you don't have to work around any brackets and wires.

Learn More About Clear Aligners

Like traditional braces, you'll generally need to wear a retainer after your aligner treatment to maintain your new alignment—and your confident new smile.

We may not recommend clear aligners for more complex alignment or bite issues or for those with bridgework.

Your orthodontist will advise you about the options that are best for you.
